There’s nothing like the smell of burning tyres and high octane fuel from cars on a race track. The sound of an engine revving all the way up to 9000rpm can make the hair on the back of your neck stand up, if you have hair there. I remember as a child my first opportunity to get behind the wheel of something with an engine was in a Go Kart at the track pictured above. Today it brought back memories of speeding down the straight, spinning out in corners and the long wait while someone came to push start me once again. Jason O’keefe (pictured) is a member of the Albany Kart club and has been racing up until recently when he decided to trade his kart for a set of full size Mitsubishi wheels and enter the Albany Hill Climb. You might notice he is also a close relative of the famous Stig. All the best with the new Motorsport Jason and thanks again for access to the track!
